Digital Makers Competition

Open to all students and staff across all disciplines and faculties. No skills required. No team required. Completely free.

The Digital Makers Competition is tailor-made for those who want to build and showcase their digital making skills with tools as early as drawing, to Figma, Unity and beyond. If you have an itch to build something wholly or partly digital, code or no-code, design-only or development-ready, whether terrible and early or exceptional and polished — this is the program for you!

The competition encourages applications from anyone and any team exploring ideas in domains as focussed as native and web app design, to as open as spatial and virtual/augmented reality computing. We don't care how big your idea is. You could be building a website to track fantasy F1 teams, recording a podcast on the state of textile trades in Ancient Greece, or coding a spatial reality app for Apple Vision Pro. Anything you're interested in is something we're interested in.

Learn more about how our program can help you level-up fundamental digital prototyping skills, showcase your ongoing development efforts over a series of IRL Workshops, get feedback and iterate from advice shared by an extensive network of mentors across UNSW and industry, and ultimately drive your idea forward.

And for the best digital makers... $10,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to winning individuals or teams selected to present at Demo Day.
